Growth Mindset Strategies For Mompreneurs: Everything I’ve Learned In One Year of Podcasting

Being a mompreneur is not easy. I know what it’s like to feel pulled in a million directions— business goals, family responsibilities, self-care (what’s that again?!). It can be tempting to try and tackle everything at once, but let me share something that has transformed my approach: the power of growth mindset strategies.

As we celebrate one year of Legacy Building, I want to share all that I’ve learned in this one year with you. Regardless of whether you’re already out in the world as a mompreneur or you’re stuck in the thinking stage, these strategies will empower you to take that next step!

Why did I start my podcast?

I never imagined I would become a podcaster. But like many mompreneurs, I was seeking a creative outlet that allowed me to share my experiences and build a community of like-minded women.

My podcast started as a way to document my journey, my struggles, and my victories as a mom running her own business. I wanted to create a space where other moms could feel seen and heard—where we could talk about the challenges of entrepreneurship while raising children.

Starting the podcast also helped me refine my voice and gave me the courage to share my story unapologetically. It was a leap of faith, but one that has paid off in ways I couldn’t have predicted. Through my podcast, I’ve met incredible women, learned from their stories, and built a platform that continues to grow.

4 growth mindset strategies I learned

Over this year, I’ve realized that adopting growth mindset strategies isn’t just about staying positive. It’s about actively challenging your limits, being open to new ways of thinking, and constantly evolving. Here are the key strategies that have helped me as a mompreneur:

1. Consistency is key

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency outweighs perfection. I used to get overwhelmed by the idea that everything had to be flawless before I could share it with the world.

There are days when I’m tired, when the kids haven’t slept well, or when I just don’t feel like showing up—but I do. And every time, I’m reminded of why it’s worth it. Whether it’s posting content, recording a podcast, or making time for networking, doing it consistently builds momentum.

2. Overcome your fears and limiting beliefs

Starting a podcast wasn’t easy. I was afraid of what people would think, doubted whether anyone would listen, and wondered if my story even mattered. But through meditation and self-reflection, I realized that the only person standing in my way was me. I found my “why” and pushed through the noise. I had to recognize my limiting beliefs and reframe them to be my most authentic self

Now, I show up every day because I’m passionate about inspiring others. If you’re struggling with self-doubt or fear of judgment, remember that you are enough. You have what it takes, and the only barrier to your success is the story you keep telling yourself.

3. Seek your supportive community

One thing I quickly realized is that you can’t ever do it alone. Surrounding yourself with a supportive network of other mompreneurs and mentors is essential because a community gives you access to different perspectives, advice, and accountability.

In my year of navigating mompreneurship, I found that when I connected with women who shared my vision, my motivation soared. They encouraged me during my tough days and celebrated my wins with me.

4. Focus on financial freedom

For many mompreneurs, financial freedom is the ultimate goal. I used to view money as something that was hard to come by, but I’ve since reframed my thinking. Now, I see money as a tool that can fuel my dreams and provide the lifestyle I want for my family.

I’ve learned to embrace the financial side of my business and make strategic decisions to ensure long-term success. And I realize I do this because I want to create a long-lasting legacy for my daughters to be proud of and to follow.
